Open dataset: recalls by barcode

Every recall notice we hold that carries a retail barcode, as one row per (barcode, authority, notice). 37,651 rows across 33,553 distinct barcodes, and 100% carry a link to the issuing authority’s own notice.

Please read before using it

• One row per (barcode, authority, notice) — a product recalled in several countries appears once per register.
• Barcodes failing a GS1 mod-10 check are excluded, as are all-zero placeholders and restricted-circulation (in-store) codes, which are not globally unique.
• A recall applies to specific lots or date codes far more often than to every unit of a barcode. Always read the authority's notice before drawing a conclusion.
• A small number of records are omitted because their source notice URL contained a third-party retail identifier that this dataset does not carry, or because the product name or brand is itself a retailer's own label.
• ProductGuru makes no safety assessment of its own and is not the source of any finding here.

Licence. The underlying notices are public records published by the authorities listed. This compilation is offered under CC BY 4.0: reuse freely with attribution to ProductGuru and a link to https://myproduct.guru/data

Medicines are excluded from this dataset by choice. Rebuilt weekly; the metadata file carries the build time and a SHA-256 of the CSV.
