According to the RAPEX notice, the identified hazard is: The solders in the product have an excessive concentration of lead and cadmium (measured value up to 75.1% and 0.3% by weight, respectively). The plastic material of the cable has excessive concentrations of bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), di-n-butyl phthalate (DBP) and short chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) (measured value up to 1.36%, 0.43% and 4.98% by weight, respectively). DEHP and DBP pose a risk to human health and the environment. SCCPs persist in the environment, are toxic to aquatic organisms at low concentrations and bio-accumulate in wildlife and humans, posing a risk to human health and the environment. Prolonged exposure to them through the skin may cause cancer.
