Reported risk: The battery cells in some Sherpa 50 and Sherpa 120 Power Packs may overcharge, causing them to overheat, bulge, and release gas. The heat generated could melt the Power Pack's enclosure and potentially discolour the surface upon which it is sitting and possibly cause a fire. In the United States, Goal Zero has received one claim that a battery pack caught fire and one claim that a consumer became ill after breathing fumes emitted from the battery pack. Neither Health Canada nor Goal Zero has received reports of consumer incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of the recalled products.
