Pushing on the bottom of the wand illuminates the ball. The wand operates with two AA-batteries. A plastic label on the side of the wand reads, "AA x2." Hazards: The batteries can short-circuit, causing the wands' handles to become very hot and melt the plastic, posing a risk of burn injuries to children.
