Why it was recalled

According to the RAPEX notice, the identified hazard is: The product has an excessive amount of lead, dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) (measured values up to 85 %, 0.79 % and 1.4 % by weight respectively). The product also contains short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) (measured value up to 0.4 % by weight). Lead poses a risk to the environment. DBP and DEHP may harm the health of children, possibly causing damage to their reproductive systems. SCCPs persist in the environment, are toxic to aquatic organisms at low concentrations and bioaccumulate in wildlife and humans, posing a risk to human health and the environment.
