Why it was recalled

According to the CPSC notice, the identified hazard is: The GBC Shredmaster 75X-2 paper shredders being recalled have serial numbers starting with "MS" or "MT". The serial numbers are found on the boxes and on the rating plate on the bottom of the paper shredder. These shredders are light gray, and have "GBC Shredmaster" and "75X Cross Cut" written on the top. "75X-2" and "MADE IN CHINA" are written on a label on the bottom of the paper shredder. Hazards: These paper shredders do not have a protective shield to guard against exposure to the cutting blades. Consumers could lift the paper shredder lid while it is running and come into contact with the turning blades. Consumers could suffer cuts or amputations of finger tips, if they touch the turning blades.
