Why it was recalled

According to the CPSC notice, the identified hazard is: This alert is only for consumers who purchased Item Number 40491 (the item number is located on the side of the packaging below the logo), an eight pack of Fern Warm Comforts tea light candles, after October 26, 2004. The tea light candles are green and come in a plastic holder. Candles purchased prior to October 26, 2004 are not affected by this alert. Hazards: Some of these tea light candles from one production run can burn with a high flame, due to contamination.
