According to the RAPEX notice, the identified hazard is: The product contains an excessive amount of cadmium (measured value 79,79 % by weight ) - gold earrings and (measured value 79,28 % by weight ) - silver earrings. Cadmium is harmful to human health, because it accumulates in the body and can damage organs and it may cause cancer. The product also releases an excessive amount of nickel (measured value 0,3514 μg/cm²/week) - gold earrings and (measured value 0,4002 μg/cm²/week) - silver earrings . Nickel is a strong sensitizer and can cause various allergic reactions if it occurs in objects that come into direct and prolonged contact with the skin.
