The date code appears on the circuit board next to the battery pack and is depicted as MM-YYYY-WW. For example, a product manufactured in the third week of August would have the date code "08-2006-03." Hazards: A circuit board in the light could malfunction, preventing the lights from illuminating in the event of a power failure. This could result in a failure to provide adequate lighting to guide building occupants to an exit in the event of an emergency.
