Reported risk: Where road salt is used to clear the snow in winter it is possible that road salt can accumulate on certain areas of the rear sub-frame and cause corrosion. If action is not taken to address this build up of corrosion it could ultimately cause the loss of control of the vehicle. Remedy: Recall all affected vehicle to check the sub-frame and if found to be excessively corroded replace it with a new subframe. Otherwise inject wax oil into the sub-frame to extend its life out to a total of ten years.
