Reported risk: Issue:
On certain trucks, the oil reservoirs may not be properly welded to the shock absorbers. As a result, the welds could corrode and fail and cause the reservoir(s) to detach from the vehicle.
Safety Risk:
An oil reservoir that detaches from the vehicle could create a hazard for other road users and increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Toyota will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and replace the affected rear shock absorbers, as necessary.
