Reported risk: Issue: On one truck, a software problem could cause the adaptive cruise control (ACC) not to work properly. As a result, when the ACC is activated, the truck may not slow down or stop if the system detects the need to apply the brakes. Safety Risk: An adaptive cruise control system that doesn't work properly could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, International Motors advises not to use the cruise control function until the recall repairs are completed. International Motors will notify the owner by mail and advise them to take their truck to a dealership to update the antilock braking system electronic control unit software.
