Reported risk: Issue:
On certain vehicles, brake fluid may be present in the brake pressure switch and wire harness. As a result, the brake switch could short circuit.
Note: This recall is an expansion of recall 23517 (Transport Canada recall no. 2023-321). Certain vehicles repaired under that recall require a second repair.
Safety Risk:
A short circuit can cause wiring to overheat and create the risk of a fire, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off.
Corrective Actions:
To reduce the safety risk, International Motors advises that you should park your vehicle outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall repairs have been completed. International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to an authorized service facility to replace the brake pressure switch and wire harness.
