Reported risk: Issue:
Under certain conditions, the rear brake hoses could become damaged. Over time, the brake hoses could fail and cause a brake fluid leak. If this happens, there could be reduced braking.
Note: This recall only affects certain 4WD vehicles equipped with 16-inch brakes and 17-inch or 18-inch Toyota wheels. This recall replaces Transport Canada recall 2025-051. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall don't require this repair.
Safety Risk:
Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Toyota will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the rear brake hoses.
