On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Ford dealer during recall 24S44 (Transport Canada recall no. 2024-381) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required.
On certain vehicles, a sensor in the steering gear may not have been calibrated properly. As a result, the steering wheel could suddenly turn from side to side by itself while turning. If this happens, there could be a loss of steering control.
Safety Risk:
A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the power steering control module (PSCM) software.
