Reported risk: Issue:
On certain trailers, the trailer tongue could crack and fail. As a result, the tongue could separate from the trailer and cause the trailer to detach from the tow vehicle.
Safety Risk:
A trailer that separates from the tow vehicle could create the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
To reduce the safety risk, Aluminum Trailer Company recommends that you should inspect for broken welds and cracks where the trailer tongue meets the front wall of the trailer before towing until the recall repairs have been completed. Aluminum Trailer Company will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your trailer to a dealership to add additional supports to the tongue tubes.
