Reported risk: Issue: On certain Ranger XP Kinetic side-by-sides, the high-voltage cable(s) on the motor controller unit may not have been secured properly. As a result, the cable(s) could be loose and overheat. If this happens, the cables could melt and cause a short circuit and/or electrical arcing (sparks). Additionally, the vehicle may accelerate on its own. Safety Risk: A short circuit and/or electrical arcing can create the risk of a fire or injury. A vehicle that accelerates on its own could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Polaris advises you not to use your side-by-side until the recall repairs are completed. Polaris will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your side-by-side to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, repair and damage to the motor controller unit.
