Reported risk: Issue: On certain fire trucks equipped with a Weldon vehicle multiplex system, a software problem could cause the power distribution unit not to shut off if there is a short circuit or a wiring problem. As a result, the unit and/or wiring could overheat and melt. Safety Risk: A power distribution unit and/or wiring that overheats and melts could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Fort Garry Fire Trucks will notify owners by email and advise you to contact Weldon to update the Weldon power distribution unit software.
