Reported risk: Issue:
On certain vehicles equipped with a 2.0 L turbo engine, the high-pressure fuel pump could fail. If this happens, the engine could suddenly lose power and stall while driving.
Safety Risk:
A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Kia will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the high-pressure fuel pump, and replace it if necessary. The dealer will also update the engine control unit software to prevent a loss of engine power while driving.
