Reported risk: Issue:
On certain golf cars, the accelerator pedal spring could detach. If this happens, the accelerator pedal may not return when it's released, causing a vehicle runaway.
Safety Risk:
An accelerator pedal that doesn't return could cause a loss of control and create the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Yamaha will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your golf car to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, install a new washer and circlip on the accelerator pedal spring. Yamaha advises not to drive your golf car until the recall repairs have been completed.
