On certain vehicles, the vent pipe inside the fuel tank may be damaged. As a result, gasoline could spill out of the filler neck when you remove the fuel cap.
Safety Risk:
A fuel spill could create the risk of injury or a fire.
Corrective Actions:
Audi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the fuel tank vent pipe. If fuel spills out of the filler neck when the tank is pressurized, the dealer will replace the fuel tank and charcoal canister.
