Reported risk: This recall was replaced by Transport Canada Recall No. 2022-464.
Issue:
On certain motorcycles, the link strut that connects the rear suspension to the frame could break. If this happens, the motorcycle can drop suddenly and contact the rear wheel. This could cause a sudden loss of stability or a loss of control.
Safety Risk:
A loss of stability or control could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
BMW Motorrad will contact owners by mail and instruct you to bring your motorcycle to a dealer to replace the rear link strut.
