Reported risk: Issue:
On certain trucks equipped with halogen headlamps, when the high beams are switched on, both the high and low beam lights turn on. Under certain conditions, this could cause the headlamps and wiring to overheat.
Safety Risk:
A headlamp that overheats can cause a loss of lighting and could create a fire risk.
Corrective Actions:
Toyota will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to modify the engine wire harness assembly. The dealer will also inspect the headlamp assemblies, bulbs and bulb connectors for damage. The dealer will replace parts damaged by this problem.
