Reported risk: On certain vehicles equipped with heated front seats, the seat heating element may become damaged, causing localized over-heating. In a situation where the vehicle is started remotely and the heated seats are turned on, the seat could over-heat and melt, creating an increased risk of a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the body control module to deactivate the heated seat function when the vehicle is started remotely.
