Reported risk: Certain vehicles may fail to conform to the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 111 – Mirrors and Rear Visibility Systems. The rear view image can be temporarily obscured by the ‘settings’ screen and/or a radio volume graphic box if the rider changes those settings prior to shifting into reverse, which is contrary to the requirements of the standard. This could increase the risk of property damage or injury to nearby pedestrians in the event the driver does not check surroundings through traditional means. Correction: Dealers will update the vehicle software.
