Reported risk: Certain snowmobiles do not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 1201 – Snowmobiles. Specifically, the passenger handgrip fasteners failed to meet the requirements of the certification program. If the fasteners were to fail, the passenger handgrips may loosen at one end and influence a rider’s ability to support oneself. If this were to occur while the snowmobile was in motion, there may be an increased risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the passenger handgrip fasteners.
