Reported risk: Certain vehicles may fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 126 - Electronic Stability Control Systems. Electrical noise could be introduced into the YAW rate sensor within the airbag ECU, which could result in deactivation of the Vehicle Stability Control and Pre-Collision systems and limited function of the Trailer Brake Controller system. This would be contrary to the requirements of the standard, and could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update the software of the ECU.
