Reported risk: Certain vehicles may fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (CMVSS) 226 - Ejection Mitigation. A tear in the fabric of the side curtain airbag may occur during deployment, which could cause the duration of the side curtain airbag’s inflation to be shorter than intended. This would result in the air bag not meeting the requirements of the standard and, in the event of a crash warranting deployment of the side curtain airbag, the risk of injury would be increased. Correction: Dealers will replace the driver and passenger aside curtain airbags.
