Reported risk: Certain trailers may fail to conform to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 223 – Rear impact guard. The rear impact guard was constructed with the incorrect grade of aluminum. This could cause the rear guard to fail prematurely in the event of a rear end collision, which would increase the risk of injury to the occupants of the vehicle following the trailer. Correction: Dealers will replace the rear impact guards with new compliant guards.
