Reported risk: Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. If the parking brake is used during emergency braking, the brake lights on the vehicle will not activate. Following road users would be unaware of the emergency braking that is taking place, which could increase the risk of a rear-end crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update vehicle software to correct the non-compliance.
