Reported risk: On certain semi-trailers, the bolts holding the suspension to the trailer framework may not have been properly torqued at the time of assembly, potentially causing them to become loose or break over time. If this occurs, the axle could separate from the trailer which would increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace all the bolts holding the suspension components to the trailer framework and add reinforcing gussets to the mating cross member to address any potential cracks that could exist in the cross member.
