Reported risk: Certain vehicles may not comply with Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 208 - Occupant Protection in Frontal Impacts. The center rear seat belt is equipped with a release mechanism that allows both the lap and the shoulder portion of the seat belt to be detached at the lower anchorage point by using a key-like tool. As the rear center seat is non-folding, this is contrary to the requirements of the standard. Correction: A production change has been undertaken to remedy this non-compliance condition. No corrective recall action is required as the non-compliance condition is deemed to be non-safety related.
Verify each fact at the issuing agency before acting. Recall scope, affected lots, and remediation instructions may be updated by the agency after our last sync.
