Reported risk: On certain vehicles with gasoline powered engines, the accelerator pedal could move laterally, allowing the accelerator pedal bracket to be hung up on the stopper bolt on the floor panel bracket. This would cause the accelerator pedal to remain in the open position, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will remove and replace the stopper bolt with a flanged plate that will be bolted to the floor bracket to prevent lateral movement of the accelerator pedal.
