Reported risk: On certain motorcycles, oil may leak at the rebound damping plug on the rear shock absorber. Oil loss may result in damage to the interior of the shock, and could prevent proper suspension action, and could affect motorcycle stability and cause poor handling which may result in a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will update the Suspension Control Unit (SCU) software, and inspect the rebound damping plug. If oil leaks are found present, dealers will replace the rear shock absorber.
