Reported risk: On certain vehicles equipped with side curtain airbags, the side curtain airbag assemblies may not have been manufactured and installed with the intended design fold orientation. If the side curtain airbag fold is not oriented properly, it could prevent the airbag from deploying as intended. A side curtain airbag that does not deploy as intended during a crash (where side curtain airbag deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of injury to vehicle occupants. Correction: Dealers will inspect the side curtain air bags on both sides of the vehicle, and will re-orient them if required.
