Reported risk: On certain travel trailers, the safety chains on the A frame may be an incorrect size. The units require safety chains rated for 16,200 lbs, but were incorrectly outfitted with safety chains rated for 11,700 lbs. This could possibly result in the weight of the travel trailer breaking the weaker chains, which could allow the trailer to separate from the towing vehicle, possibly striking another vehicle, a stationary object, or a bystander, causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will remove the incorrect safety chains and replace them with the correct 16,200 lbs safety chains.
