Reported risk: On certain buses, the hood latch straps used to latch the hood closed may become elongated and not return to their original specified length. This could cause the hood latch to not stay in the latched position while driving, and/or the hood opening unexpectedly during vehicle braking, which could could compromise the driver’s ability to see the road and its users. These issues could result in a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will replace the suspect hood latch straps with certified hood latch straps.
