Reported risk: On certain vehicles, an error in the electric power steering control unit software could result in the deactivation of the electric power steering assist. This would unexpectedly increase the steering effort force necessary to steer the vehicle at lower vehicle speeds, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update the power steering software.
