Reported risk: On certain vehicles, the tie rod threaded attachment to the steering gear rack may not have been tightened to specification. This could allow the tie rod to loosen and separate from the steering rack, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the inner tie rods for correct torque and replace the steering gear if necessary.
