Reported risk: On certain vehicles equipped with the regenerative braking system, a fault could cause the charging system to malfunction, which would display the charging system malfunction warning light and error message. Continued vehicle operation in this state could result in an engine stall and a loss of motive power. This could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the powertrain control module.
