Reported risk: On certain vehicles, incorrect steering gearbox mounting bolts may have been installed during vehicles assembly. These bolts are longer than designed and could reach bottom, preventing the application of adequate tightening torque. Should the bolts loosen, the steering gear could separate from its mounting bracket, which may affect steering performance. A loss of steering control could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the steering gear mounting bolts.
