Reported risk: On certain vehicles, welds may have been omitted from the fuel tank mounting brackets during the vehicle manufacturing process. This could allow fuel leakage to occur as a result of a severe side impact crash. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, secure the fuel tank brackets using fasteners.
