Reported risk: On certain school buses, a joint in the ceiling sheet metal fails to conform to the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 221 - School Bus Body Joint Strength. The size of the hemming and the location of the glue have altered the joint strength of the panels. In the event of a crash, the ceiling panel may separate from the vehicle structure, which could increase the risk of personal injury to vehicle occupants. Correction: Dealers will install a junction plate over the ceiling panel joint.
