Reported risk: On certain fifth wheel trailers, the Federal Identification Tag does not contain the correct Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR). The label incorrectly indicates a GAWR of 3,632 kg / 8,000 lbs, but instead should read of 3,405 kg / 7,500 lbs. Loading beyond actual GAWR could result in poor vehicle handling characteristics, increasing the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Updated labels will be mailed to owners of affected vehicles, along with instructions for proper installation.
