Reported risk: On certain trailers, the bracket that secures the axle to the mainframe rails may have been manufactured with inadequate metal gauge. Over time and specific configuration and design, stress, torque, and metal fatigue, can cause the metal bracket to crack and fail, which could result in separation of the axle from the trailer. This could result in a vehicle crash causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will weld each axle bracket directly to the frame.
