Reported risk: On certain vehicles, the Ricon wheelchair lift located in baggage bay #2 could become disengaged from a locked position and slide freely. As a secondary mode of failure, if the wheelchair lift is deployed manually, when the unit is placed back in storage, the drive mechanism may not re-engage properly, allowing the unit to move freely. An unrestrained wheelchair lift may break through the compartment door and extend beyond the outside of the vehicle while in motion, causing potential injury to persons and or damage to other vehicles or property. Correction: The manufacturer/Dealers will install a Ricon-designed retrofit kit.
