Reported risk: Certain motorhomes fail to comply with the requirements of CMVSS 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. The spare tire assembly impedes full visibility of the left taillight. An obstructed turn signal and stop lamp could leave following road users unaware of the driver's intentions, increasing the risk of a crash causing personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will replace the spare tire carrier with a newly designed version that will re-position the assembly slightly inboard. As well, a supplementary taillight assembly will be added to the existing spare tire cover.
