Reported risk: On certain vehicles, a leak in one or both Quick Release Valves (QRV) could occur. The first QRV is located in the lift axle air lines. A leak in that QRV would affect the rate at which the tag/pusher axle is lowered/lifted. A catastrophic failure of the QRV would result in a rapid drop of a raised tag axle, which could cause serious injury or death to a person working under or near the axle. The second QRV is in the park brake air lines. A leak would release pressure on the park brake springs; if the leak is large enough, the pressure would drop and set the brakes on the rear axle, which could result in a loss of vehicle control and a crash, causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the quick release valves.
