Reported risk: On certain motorcycles, terminal nuts for the 40-amp main circuit breaker may have been improperly torqued during manufacturing process. If poor terminal connection were to exist, the motorcycle might exhibit a misfire or the engine may die unexpectedly. It could also cause loss of battery voltage at the ECM and other electrically controlled components. Engine stalling would result in lost propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash. Correction: Dealers will inspect and torque the terminal lug nuts at the 40-amp circuit breaker and will download new programming into the ECM.
