Reported risk: On certain vehicles, the inline power steering filter can plug, causing a rise in return line pressure, which can lead to possible hose separation from the filter or steering gear fitting. This would result in a sudden loss of steering fluid and power assist. Loss of power assist function could result in a vehicle crash causing injury or death. Correction: Dealers will replace the power steering filter with a larger version.
